Happy MLK and Playground Fun

Sebastian decided to sleep in a little bit this morning...he made it to 9am, that's just unthinkable...he did however, stay up til 12am and was up a good amount last night but I'm still thankful for the extra two hours this morning. When we finally rolled out of bed and made our way downstairs for some breakfast we noticed the INCREDIBLE weather outside! Sebastian has been begging to play outside but its been too cold...today it was a beautiful 60 degrees and sunny. Tomorrow it is supposed to be freezing again and stay cold for quite awhile SO we took advantage!
We scarfed down some toaster strudels and then threw on some shoes and a sweater to head out with the wagon and go to the neighborhood playground. We had a blast, there was no one there so he had nobody but Mama and Daddy to play with, let me just say that it is not as easy as it used to be to climb up those damn ladders and crawl under low beams. I think they make them impossible for adults on purpose!

Well, it is past 10pm and I need to be at work early so it is time to start getting ready for bed...I wish I could  chat forever but we had a great time at the park and loved the fabulous weather. I hope everyone had a great Martin Luther King Jr. Day!!!

Shabby Chic Has Commenced!!!

So, I promised an update on the girly nursery underway and so I shall deliver...with some cute pictures! I have busted out the actual camera instead of relying on the IPhone, there are some really cute ones of Jonathan teaching Sebastian how to paint with a roller :)

My favorite one!!!
I know Sebastian's personality will change some when his sister arrives but please God, don't make this kid any less exciting and lovable!!!

So those were clearly taken prior to the nursery paint disaster, which has now been sorted out and finished. Next, was the chandelier challenge...there are thousands to choose from. Jonathan did not really want one but I convinced him that the room would not look shabby chic without it so I was on the hunt for the perfect one. They range from thousands of dollars to just a few so it was quite the search. I actually ended up at Pottery Barn Kids. Theirs were reasonable and looked perfect. I got the Mia Chandelier and it only took two days to ship. We decided to get it up in the room so we wouldn't have any more boxes lying around....Jonathan did a fabulous job at hanging it (with Sebastian's help of course)!

Holding the trash can for Daddy!

Exploring the carpet under the rug.

OHHHHH...be careful Daddy, those are crystals!
Once it was all hung and wrap removed, we had to get light bulbs!!! But, I think it looks GREAT, it is a perfect fit for the room!

The bedding is well underway as well...Mamie, Aunt Janet and I worked on it for several hours today and have the comforter ready to assemble and the crib bumper nearly finished....THEY LOOK SO BEAUTIFUL! It is turning out even better than I had imagined and so far has not been too difficult! The crib skirt and curtains are next.

Also, look what Mamie made for the baby girl...

She hand crocheted the entire thing....it looks so beautiful against our white glider...the perfect size and color...THANK YOU, MAMIE!!!

Such a character!
